American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CICU) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

8-bed high-acuity Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) within a hospital setting
-
Receives patients from the Cath Lab, ED, and Acute Care areas requiring specialized cardiac care
-
Adult cardiac patient population with complex monitoring and treatment needs
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
36 or 48 hours per week
-
13-week contract
-
Floating required to other units and hospitals
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
-
Active RN license in Alabama or via compact (no temporary or pending licenses accepted; no prior or current hits on license)

Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
-
Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent CICU or cardiovascular ICU experience

PALS preferred if floating to a pediatric unit

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Current driver's license required for consideration

SSN required for consideration

Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site skills/competency test in addition to an online pre-test

Virtual orientation is provided and includes competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
