Position Overview
Hex Security Officers use a proven community-policing patrol model to provide both a proactive and reactive approach to crime prevention. We work with residents and owners within the multi-family and commercial real estate sector to identify security concerns for their communities and develop effective strategies to help mitigate threats.
The Overnight Hex Security Officer’s basic duties and responsibilities are as listed below to include protecting persons and property at a fixed location by roving foot patrol. All duties listed below are minimum requirements.
- Area Checks– Officers perform foot patrols inside and outside the property to make sure all doors are closed and locked, and the buildings and exterior premises are void of any suspicious activity. All post orders apply.
- Customer Service– Our Officers interact with our clients and their tenants on a daily basis. Customer Service is key to our success.
- Situational Awareness– Our officers conduct patrols in a dedicated area where the client's property and needs are addressed and protected.
- Reporting- Our Officers use the latest technology to report detailed information about what was seen and heard. This is the means by which our clients receive the assurance that the property was secured on a particular day and at a particular time.
- Lighting and Security Inspections– During patrols, our officers provide lighting and security notifications as they are identified. These consist of notifying the customers via reports of any lights that are out and other potential areas where a breach of security is present. Examples include identifying places where there is no fence, a hole in a fence, overgrown trees or bushes for hiding criminal activity.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States
- Must pass a multi-panel drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must be familiar with typing and computer use
- Must be able to learn new computer software in an efficient and effective time frame
- Must be able to perform moderate physical tasks
- Must complete online assessment
- Must have clear criminal history and driving history
- Must be able to work overnights (6PM-6AM), weekends, and holidays
Preferred Applicants May Include One or More of the Following
- Criminal Justice Academy Graduate
- Former/Current Law Enforcement Officer (includes military law enforcement)
- US Military Veteran
- Private Security background
Starting salary based on experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
