Duties
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and design specifications
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics to troubleshoot system faults
- Repair and maintain mechanical systems, including plumbing, refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration, and boiler components
- Interpret HVAC schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure precise system setup and troubleshooting
- Conduct system testing and calibration to optimize performance and energy efficiency
- Perform welding, equipment repair, and mechanical systems repair as needed during installations or maintenance tasks
- Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations related to refrigerants and environmental safety standards
Requirements
- Proven construction experience with a strong foundation in mechanical systems installation and repair
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related fields is highly preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles, building automation systems, and schematic interpretation
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration techniques including ammonia refrigeration systems
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R equipment such as boilers, air conditioning units, ductwork, fans, pumps, and valves
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively for troubleshooting electrical issues
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers preferred
- Certifications such as EPA certification for refrigerant handling are required; additional certifications in welding or appliance repair are a plus
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to perform equipment repair and property maintenance tasks efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to field service challenges
