Job Description: As a Service Technician at Klingerman Family Auto, you will ensure the mechanical integrity and safety of our inventory and customers’ vehicles. You will work alongside a team of experienced sales and service professionals, focusing on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of pre-owned vehicles. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to providing customers with reliable, well-maintained automobiles.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive diagnostics to identify vehicle issues and propose effective repair solutions.
· Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
· Execute complex repairs on engines, suspensions, electrical systems, and other components.
· Inspect vehicles for safety and quality assurance, adhering to industry standards and state laws.
· Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate vehicle assessments and repairs before sales.
· Document all repairs and maintenance tasks performed on each vehicle accurately.
· Be self-motivated to complete tasks needed within the shop.
· Keep the workshop clean and organized and comply with all safety regulations.
· Stay up to date with advancements in automotive technology and industry best practices.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive mechanics is preferred.
· Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
· Automotive Repair: 6 years (Preferred)
· Must have a valid Pennsylvania inspection license.
· Must have basic hand tools.
· Proven experience as an automotive technician in a dealership or repair shop setting.
· Proficiency in diagnostics and efficiency in repairs to various categories, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering/suspension, and brakes.
· Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
