Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment used in our operations. Your expertise will ensure our equipment runs smoothly, minimizing downtime and supporting our commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment including cement mixers, trailers, water trucks and anything else with a diesel engine
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and automotive diagnostics tools
- Repair and replace components such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspension parts, brakes, and air brake systems
- Fabricate parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to enhance equipment performance
- Conduct alignments, tire services, and wheel inspections to ensure safety and operational efficiency
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and repair logs for all equipment serviced
- Support heavy lifting tasks during repairs or assembly of large machinery
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment or other types of fleets
- Hands-on experience with tractors and trailers
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems in heavy equipment
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, tire service, brake repair, alignment procedures and general vehicle maintenance
- Ability to read technical schematics and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients

Pay: $47,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
