Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Stone Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of stone materials in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, blueprint reading, and the use of hand and power tools. The Stone Installer will work closely with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure precise installation and high-quality craftsmanship. Prior experience in construction site work, masonry, or related fields is highly valued.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and prepare stone materials according to project specifications using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine installation requirements.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary adhesives or mortar for stone placement.
- Install stone veneer, tiles, or full stone panels on walls, floors, facades, or other structures with precision.
- Operate heavy equipment when necessary for material handling or site preparation.
- Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and roofing to ensure seamless integration of materials.
- Perform quality inspections to verify proper alignment, levelness, and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries on-site.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in masonry, stone installation, or related construction fields.
- Proficiency with blueprints reading and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as chisels, trowels, levels, and measuring devices; familiarity with power tools like saws and drills.
- Knowledge of construction management principles including estimating and inspection is a plus.
- Experience with concrete forming, plastering, fabrication, carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, masonry work, welding, restoration work, glass installation, cabinet installation, door hanging, painting, concrete finishing skills preferred.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely when required.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read construction schematics and schematics related to fixtures or structural components.
