Summary: Responsible for improving the quality of fiscal operations by maintaining and implementing a sound system of grants and fiscal management for A&D programs. Works closely with administrative management to ensure effective delivery of services and works as part of a team with other program staff to carry out the following tasks.
Education Requirements and Experience:
Associates degree (A.A.) in Business and/or related field.
Experience in grants and budgets and/or four years related work experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Expertise in Generally Accepting Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards.
Working knowledge of the current Leech Lake budget and accounting system.
Be knowledgeable of the current Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Grant policies and A&D Division programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational and management skills.
Knowledge and experience in computers and office machines.
Be flexible, a self starter and adaptable to various environments.
Native American Preference.

Duties/Responsibilities:
General Responsibilities:
Assist the A&D Director in the preparation of all SUD grant applications and budget projections.
Assist Director in planning and implementing systems necessary for operation of the program according to contract requirements.
Communicate with government, community agencies and public officials regarding program policies and implementation.
Review contract requirements and assist in delivering information to program staff in the interpretation of the requirements.
Provide the Director with information to clarify any requirements to meet special conditions of the grant or contract.
Produce reports as needed for administrative and program staff.
Assure public documents are written and formatted in a professional manner and correspond accurately to contract principles.
Maintain an accurate and up to date filing system for all grant information received.
Process personnel related documents with proper documentation.
Assist in marketing, public relations and grant writing as requested.
Assist programs in any other appropriate way after necessary duties are completed.
Attend and or conduct all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
Travel in and out of the state as required.
Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.
Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.
Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe positions.
Fiscal Management:
Keep updated list of all revenue and expense information for each grant contract.
Prepare proposed budget activity for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Budget Committee.
Monitor budget activity and work closely with Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe accounting department to process any
amendments or modifications as necessary.
Prepare fiscal reports as needed to clarify budget allocations and forecasted needs.
Submit information to Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe accounting department to set up accounts for each contract as they are awarded.
Prepare fiscal information and ensure that each close-out accurately reflects budget year expenditures and revenue according to grant awards.
Grants Management:
Coordinator will be responsible for development and implementation of a grant tracking mechanism for all A&D federal and state grants.
Coordinator will ensure reporting is done in a timely matter. Submit reports to management as requested.
Coordinator will keep records of project activities relating to planning, development and implementation in the interest of project assessment and replication.
Coordinator will be responsible for providing information on project activities to the A&D Director, as well as, external entities as required.
Coordinator will attend and/or conduct regular meetings and trainings with grant partners as required.
Coordinator will provide monthly updates on grants status and reporting requirements to the director.

Be able to lift 50 pounds or more and use proper body mechanics.
