Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department in Great Barrington, MA. The ideal candidate will have recent Emergency Room experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule
- 13-week contract with possible extension
- 12-hour Day Shifts
- Shift Hours: 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays as needed
- No on-call requirement
Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Meditech.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and nursing best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License (must be available at profile submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of current Emergency Room (ER) experience
- Current American Heart Association (AHA):
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Strong communication, time management, delegation, and critical thinking skills
- Traveler must have a personal vehicle
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
Preferred Qualifications
- ED Triage experience
- Cardiac Room experience
- Meditech Expanse experience
- IV Certification
- ENPC Certification
- CEN Certification
- BSN preferred

- Complete work history
- Current Emergency Department skills checklist (within 1 year)
- One supervisory signed reference from the past two years
- Massachusetts RN License
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
