We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Field Mold Sampling Technician to conduct residential environmental inspections. You will visit scheduled client homes daily to perform visual assessments, collect indoor air quality samples, collect physical bulk samples and take surface swab samples. This role operates on a flexible, per-project pay structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned residential customer locations daily to conduct thorough mold inspections.
- Perform air sampling procedures using air sampling pumps and cassettes (spore traps).
- Collect bulk physical samples (e.g., drywall, insulation, wood) when suspect growth is present.
- Conduct swab and tape-lift surface sampling on targeted areas.
- Fill out chain-of-custody (COC) paperwork accurately for every site visit.
- Securely store, package, and transport all samples to the designated laboratory or shipping drop-off.
- Deliver professional, polite, and helpful customer service to homeowners during on-site visits.
- Maintain all provided sampling tools, pumps, and calibration gear in good working condition.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Driver's License: Active, valid driver’s license.
- Transportation: Reliable vehicle capable of carrying standard sampling gear.
- Punctuality & Communication: Outstanding time-management skills and strong verbal communication.
- Physical Demands: Ability to kneel, bend, stand for extended periods, and occasionally enter tight spaces like attics or crawlspaces.
