We are seeking a Dog Trainer to join the #1 German Shepherd kennel in North America!
You will be responsible for training puppies, adolescent, and adult dogs for clients, and the Mittelwest competition team. Training involves early puppy socialization, puppy/adolescent basic obedience, protection training, and show training.
Experience as a dog trainer is a competitive advantage, but not not necessarily required for the right kind of candidate.

- Starting pay is $15 an hour.

Applicants will be expected to train in with our current Dog Trainers, and work supervised until training is satisfactory.
Qualifications:
- Experience in animal care or other related fields.
- Experience with professional training schools.
- Experience training personal dogs.
- Passion and love for animals.
- Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner.
- Ability to thrive in an independent fast-paced environment.

Feed Shift:
- AM (roughly 8am-3pm) and PM (roughly 4pm-11pm) shifts available
- Handle general care tasks such as feeding, medicating, and watering the animals
- Interact with puppies, evaluating them, making sure they nurse
- Keep records of animal feedings, weights, treatments, and other updates
- Interact individually with all the dogs and puppies at Mittelwest
Clean Shift:
- Flexible hours (as long as a shift is completed on the day it is scheduled, you can come in whenever you want)
- Pick poop out of Kennels
- Handle varying cleaning solutions depending on the dogs
- Operate a power washer
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment for coworkers and animals
Crew Shifts:
- Groom dogs
- Take photos of dogs
- Assist coworkers in handling dogs/other tasks
- Any day-to-day tasks that pop up
