About the Role
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company's strategic and operational goals. This role works closely with leadership to provide financial insights, improve processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure accurate account reconciliations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial results and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Monitor gross margins, operating expenses, inventory valuation, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and insurance providers.
- Oversee sales tax, business licenses, and regulatory filings.
- Support ERP and accounting system improvements while identifying opportunities to automate financial processes.
- Develop and document accounting procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and executive leadership to support business decisions through financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based businesses preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (Prophet 21 experience is a plus).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
