A respected nonprofit healthcare organization in Essex County, New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dedicated outpatient team serving individuals affected by HIV, substance use disorders, and other healthcare disparities.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care, education, and support to patients receiving HIV-related services and preventative care.
- Administer immunizations and medications in accordance with established protocols and standing orders.
- Perform STI screening, specimen collection, testing coordination, and patient follow-up.
- Deliver HIV prevention education, risk-reduction counseling, and PrEP-related support services.
- Provide overdose prevention education and distribute Naloxone (Narcan) as appropriate.
- Conduct patient assessments and coordinate referrals to medical, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and community resources.
- Educate patients regarding HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, chronic disease management, safer sex practices, and harm reduction strategies.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Monitor inventory, supplies, vaccines, and clinical equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, reporting requirements, and program data collection.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support patient engagement and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required based on licensure standards.
- Minimum two years of community health, public health, ambulatory care, infectious disease, or related nursing experience.
- Experience working with underserved populations strongly preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience or blood collection skills preferred.
- Knowledge of HIV care, STI prevention, harm reduction, substance use treatment, or community-based healthcare is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient engagement skills.
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
