Summary: Seeking a Senior Accountant with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Primary responsibilities will be Inventory/Cost Accounting, with progression to assistance with other areas of month-end closing and potential progression to Controller role (3-5 year time frame) depending on performance. Must be knowledgeable in Cost Accounting, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably both independently and with others, and deliver according to deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Participates with and actively contributes to interdepartmental cost accounting team
· Plans and collects data to determine costs of business activity (raw materials, labor and overhead)
· Analyzes data and draws sound conclusions, including profitability of projects and recommendations for cost savings
· Monitors and reviews material price changes and impacts to product costs and margins
· Works closely with inter-department teams to evaluate and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
· Assists with periodic physical inventory and monitors cycle count process; researches inventory discrepancies
· Reconciles inventory reports with general ledger to assist in month-end close
· Prepares periodic reports for management
· Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner

Education/Experience:
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and three years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have a sound understanding of Cost Accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Accounting experience in other areas a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Excellent report-writing skills using both traditional and electronic correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with others at all levels in the organization, as well as those outside the organization, as necessary.
Math Ability:
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics, as required to properly calculate cost data.
Reasoning Ability:
Analytical thinking with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently deal with problems involving concrete and abstract variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and have a background with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Specific knowledge of Macola ERP system a plus, but not required.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
