Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Skilled Laborer to join our Water & Wastewater Construction team. This role supports the installation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of underground utilities, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in heavy civil construction, understands safe excavation practices, and works effectively in a team-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of underground and aboveground pipe, water/wastewater equipment, etc.
- Perform trenching, shoring, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Support equipment operators with grading, rigging, and material handling
- Install valves, hydrants, manholes, vaults, and fittings
Qualifications
- Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving machinery
- Experience with pipe lasers, levels, and grade rods preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to safety
Preferred Skills
- Equipment operation experience (skid steer, excavator, loader)
- Familiarity with ductile iron and PVC Pipe
- Experience with Concrete

Work Environment
This position involves outdoor construction work in various weather conditions. Projects may include municipal water systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and industrial utility infrastructure. Travel to regional job sites may be required.
