Mine Utility Operator
Including but not limited to the following:
Comply with all Imerys, MSHA, and Equipment Mfg Safety Policies and Procedures.
Follow written and oral instructions from Mine Supervisor and Mine Foreman.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to pass state and federal background checks to be added to the mine’s blasting license and assist in loading powder.
Must be willing and able to learn and operate the following equipment and perform their corresponding mining tasks: Powder Truck, Fuel Truck, Font-End Loader, Haul Truck, Rotary Scaler (Excavator), Pick Scaler, Drill, Fork Lift, Roof Bolter, Man Lift, Skid Steer. Correct operation includes performing daily pre-shift inspections, greasing, refueling, and communicating issues with management and the mechanic, as well as keeping the equipment clean.
Stay up to date on industry standards and safety regulations.
Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in their workplace.
Any other job duties assigned by management within job classification.
Perform the following activities under limited indirect supervision in accordance with established procedures:
Perform other duties as assigned and qualified.
Works inside and outside. Will be exposed to various weather conditions.
Frequently exposed to drafts, changing temperatures, noise, heat, dust, fumes, oil, and grease.
Frequently exposed to the possibility of receiving cuts, burns, bruises and sprains.
Required to push, pull, turn, and position parts and tools.
Lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes.
