Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary, ensuring safety during meal times
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning patient areas, laundry, and organizing supplies
- Support residents with memory care needs related to Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through engaging activities and compassionate interaction
- Document all care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing home settings, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or medication administration are a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory impairments enhances your suitability for this role
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs when needed
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and residents’ families
