Position Summary
Elite Connector is partnering with a manufacturer to find an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role (NO direct report) responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, cost accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, standard costing, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily activities of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
- Review and approve daily production costing transactions.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, monitor production variances, and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve standard costing issues by reviewing bills of materials (BOMs), routing, and work center overhead rates.
- Review engineering and BOM changes and update standard costs as necessary.
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Record and allocate payroll transactions following payroll processing.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to senior leadership to support business decisions.
- Assist with year-end financial reporting and coordinate with external auditors by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), cost accounting standards, and company policies.
- Develop and recommend process improvements and internal controls to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Report safety concerns promptly and support a safe working environment.
- Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant role preferred.
- Strong cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, and production variance analysis.
- Proficiency with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze large volumes of financial data with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems is preferred.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based within a manufacturing facility.
- Occasional overtime, including evenings or weekends, may be required to support month-end, year-end, or production schedules.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when entering designated production areas.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
