Position Summary:
Porters are responsible for maintaining a single assigned client property by servicing trash and recycling enclosures, keeping areas clean and organized, and ensuring the property consistently meets Copia Resources’ standards. Unlike route-based roles, Porters work at one primary location and focus on daily upkeep, consistency, and client-facing professionalism.
Job Duties:
- Service trash enclosures/rooms at an assigned client property
- Sort waste by separating trash, recycling, and compost into designated bins
- Open plastic trash bags as needed to properly sort materials
- Flatten boxes and large materials to maximize bin capacity
- Sweep and clean enclosures, including under and behind bins
- Take before and after photos when required and upload to designated systems
- Report contamination, safety hazards, property damage, or service issues
- Relocate bulk items to the debris bin
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean driving record of at least 2 yrs (1 point or less with approval from company's car insurance)
- Able to work the following shift: 7 am - 12pm Saturday & Sunday
- Ability to repetitively lift 50-75+ lbs (furniture, appliances, household items)
- Ability to push and pull wheeled bins weighing 600+ lbs.
- Follows instructions from Senior Drivers / Field Operations Admin / Route Supervisors while working quickly and efficiently
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Able to drive/maneuver a trailer
- Must work well with others and represent Copia Resources CA, Inc. professionally
- Ability to communicate via text, email, and photo messaging
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent attendance
- Ability to make decisions and think outside of the box
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean spaces
- Janitorial or porter experience a plus, NOT required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but NOT required
Pay: $22.00 per hour
