About the Role:
Dale T Smith & Sons Meat Packing Inc. is looking for a reliable and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team in North Salt Lake City, UT. Responsibilities:
- Operate long haul commercial trucks to transport meat and food products across regional and national routes
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of perishable freight in compliance with DOT regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs (ELD)
- Maintain proper temperature controls and cold chain integrity for refrigerated loads
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding route updates, delays, or issues
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all federal and state transportation laws
Requirements:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required
- Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable long haul or OTR driving experience
- Clean MVR and satisfactory background check
- Experience operating refrigerated (reefer) trailers preferred
- Familiarity with ELD systems and DOT Hours of Service regulations
- Strong time management skills and a self-motivated, dependable work ethic
