Rotating - 08 Hour (United States of America)

A Brief Overview
The Surgery Materials Coordinator orders and maintain inventories of consumable supplies within the Department of Surgical Services. Coordinates consignment instruments and supplies for specialty cases. Participates in review of Operating Room inventory and custom packs to monitor usage and identify cost saving opportunities. Facilitates with Purchasing, the repair of surgical equipment. These duties must be accomplished within the budgetary and space requirement of the hospital.

What you will do
- Monitor stock levels, change par levels and items as appropriate
- Review future schedule for potential conflicts, procure supplies/equipment necessary
- Process repair requests, troubleshoot if appropriate
- Confirm and order special implants/requested items
- Review and complete “Hand Charge” forms with appropriate information
- Maintain accuracy of preference cards, with information supplied by staff and changes to the PBDS kits
- Maintain labeling and organization of supplies
- Communicate necessary changes to charge master
- Meet with vendors as directed for specific issues raised by nursing staff
- Consult staff regarding stock item or location changes. Communicate changes.
- Communicate stock problems (i.e. back orders) and alternatives to staff
- Attends department meetings and serves on hospital wide committees as assigned.
- Builds relationships by consistently interacts with physicians, peers, departmental personnel, volunteers and external service providers in a courteous and professional manner.

Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
2+ years to 3 years of Operating Room experience, surgical technician Preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiar with Materials Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of computer skills preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
Strong attention to details

- Current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $38.12 - $49.45 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
