Applicant must be at least 19 years of age with a high school diploma OR GED. Applicant MUST be dependable, punctual, and willing to work. You must enjoy working with children. Training will be provided for those who are hired. Previous childcare experience is preferred and a plus (babysitting, daycare, nanny responsibilities, church service childcare, etc). Responsibilities will include: daily supervision of children, planning of fun activities, cleaning, planning learning activities, story time, clean up, supervision, etc. Applicants must be flexible to work with different age groups if needed, and applicant must be able to work well with others. It is essential that you are able to properly communicate with the director, other staff, children, and parents. Applicant must be kind, caring, patient, and loving, and must enjoy working with children. The center is open Monday-Friday, and this position has varying hours depending on the classroom/need. Hours will be discussed. Anyone who applies, per DHR regulations, must be able to pass a background check and must fill out DHR-required paperwork upon hire. Paid training for childcare center employees will be provided prior to starting in a classroom.

Professional Requirements Include: Minimum of a High School diploma or GED; must be willing to get CPR/First Aid Certification
Personal Skills Needed: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; proper supervision of children in care; willingness to work with others; willingness to use feedback to improve teaching methods/work with children; punctual; dependable and able to work a regular schedule
Physical Performance: Ability to complete the following activities as needed (but not limited to): mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, sanitizing materials, changing diapers or soiled clothes; ability to lift children, cots, etc.; ability to move furniture if necessary; be able to stand for long periods and get in and out of the floor for playtime, circle time, etc.
Daily Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
1. Communicating with parents/children daily (conversations, greeting upon arriving/leaving)
2. Preparing activities and games for children
3. Providing for children's basic needs (supervision, assistance with cleaning up, cleanliness of children, monitoring behaviors)
4. Supervision of children
5. Assistance with closing procedures at the center (washing dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, straightening the room, etc.)

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
