The 15th Judicial District Court is seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to serve as a FINS Intake Officer within the Families In Need of Services (FINS) division of the court. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits including health insurance, medical and annual leave.
The FINS Intake Officer serves as the first point of contact for families referred to court under the Families In Need of Services process found in Louisiana Children’s Code Title VII. The candidate will receive community complaints, conduct intake screenings, meet with families, coordinate services, facilitate conferences, and assist families in developing solutions that promote positive outcomes for children and youth.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive and review FINS referrals
· Conduct intake conferences with families to gather case information and assess family needs
· Develop and monitor case plans
· Connect families with community resources and support services
· Maintain accurate case records and documentation
· Work collaboratively with schools, law enforcement agencies, services providers, and court personnel.
· Assist families in accessing services designed to improve family stability and youth success
· Attend meetings, training sessions, and court proceedings as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in one of these or a related field: Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, Family Studies.
OR
· A combination of education and professional experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Experience in case management, social services, juvenile justice, child welfare, education, counseling, probation services, or a related field is preferred.
