Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and customer-focused Maintenance Technician to join our vacation rental and property management team. This role is responsible for maintaining vacation homes and residential properties to ensure they are safe, clean, fully functional, and guest-ready. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently while delivering excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vacation rental and managed properties.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, doors, windows, locks, drywall, and flooring.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.
- Prepare properties for arriving guests, ensuring everything is in excellent working condition.
- Coordinate with Operations managers and staff, homeowners, vendors, and housekeeping staff.
- Perform exterior maintenance, including pressure washing, minor landscaping, gutter cleaning, and debris removal.
- Install fixtures, furniture, TVs, smart locks, fans and other property amenities.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and time spent on each job using provided software.
- Follow company safety standards and maintain a professional appearance when interacting with guests and owners.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance, handyman, construction, facilities, or property management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair.
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs efficiently.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work, including climbing ladders and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Smartphone proficiency for receiving work orders, documenting repairs, and communicating with the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC certification or experience
- Electrical or plumbing certifications
- Experience with vacation rentals, hotels, or property management
- Knowledge of smart home technology (Wi-Fi, smart locks, thermostats, security cameras)
