Overview
We are building a talent pipeline for multiple leadership opportunities with an established heavy equipment dealership. Depending on your background and experience, qualified candidates may be considered for either a Service Manager or Parts Manager position. We are seeking experienced professionals who understand the unique demands of supporting heavy equipment operations and delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership within the service and/or parts department of a heavy equipment dealership.
- Coordinate workflow between technicians, customers, vendors, and internal personnel to ensure efficient operations.
- Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, technician scheduling, and customer service activities.
- Support technicians by coordinating parts availability, repair priorities, and equipment turnaround times.
- Maintain accurate service, repair, inventory, and customer documentation.
- Manage inventory levels, parts procurement, vendor relationships, and ordering activities as applicable.
- Promote a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status, repair recommendations, and estimated completion timelines.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, manufacturer standards, and dealership operating procedures.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in a Parts Manager, Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
- Ability to confidently identify, discuss, and support heavy equipment components, systems, and repair processes.
- Strong understanding of construction equipment, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, material handling equipment, fleet equipment, or diesel-powered machinery.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, powertrain, and mechanical systems.
- Experience coordinating technicians, service scheduling, parts inventory, or equipment maintenance operations.
- Familiarity with dealership management systems, inventory software, service documentation, or work order management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced service environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working with heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, industrial equipment, or diesel-powered machinery is required.
- Experience in a heavy equipment dealership, equipment rental company, fleet maintenance operation, or similar environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising technicians, parts personnel, or service operations.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems found on heavy equipment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
