American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Orange, CA, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience with ortho, neuro, and robotics skills.

Operating Room unit within a 426-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
-
Day shift schedule, primarily Monday–Friday (6:30–15:00), with rotating weekends
-
On-call required: minimum of 3 shifts per 6-week schedule, with at least 1 weekend call shift; M–F post-shift call runs 22:30–06:30, and weekend call shifts are 12 hours (06:30–18:30 or 18:30–06:30); call is evenly split between staff and travelers

Orthopedic, neurological, and robotics surgical cases; candidates with experience in at least 2 of these 3 specialties may be considered

Self-scheduling environment; clinician will be worked into the first scheduling cycle based on start date

Charting via Epic (required)

Scrubs are provided for OR nurses

Active CA RN license required; pending licensure will not be accepted

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

CNOR certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of OR experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Experience in at least 2 of the following 3 specialties: orthopedics, neurology, and robotics

Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Active professional license at time of consideration

First-time travelers may be considered if they have 5 or more years of OR experience
-
Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
-
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
-
RTO must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; post-offer RTO requests are subject to denial
-
Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be accommodated
-
Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position

Holiday coverage expectations are subject to the self-scheduling process and manager discretion
