Position: Regional Oilfield Chemical Hauler
BKT Trucking is hiring experienced CDL-A tanker drivers for our Greeley, Colorado operation.
Drivers haul primarily non-hazardous frac chemicals from customer facilities to oilfield wellsites throughout the region. Some hazardous-material loads may also be available to drivers with a Hazmat endorsement.
This is hands-on tanker work. Drivers are responsible for safely transporting and unloading each load, completing the required paperwork, and properly caring for the equipment.
Oilfield experience is preferred but not required. Experienced tanker drivers who are willing to learn oilfield operations are encouraged to apply.
Percentage Pay
- New drivers are paid 26% of gross revenue for the first 120 days
- From day 121 through the completion of the first year, drivers are paid 28% of gross revenue
- After one year, the driver’s pay rate is reviewed alongside work performance, with the opportunity to earn up to 30% of gross revenue
- Estimated earning potential is $90,000–$130,000 per year, depending on workload, availability, performance, and time worked
Schedule and Home Time
This is a regional oilfield position operating around customer demand. Dispatch times and workdays may change depending on workload.
Drivers living near the Greeley operating area may receive frequent home time or, depending on workload, daily home time.
Drivers who live farther away may work scheduled rotations, such as:
- Approximately three weeks working followed by six to seven days off
- Longer working rotations may qualify for seven or more days off
Once a driver is trained and placed into the regular rotation, consistent scheduled days off may be arranged based on operational needs.
Drivers willing to travel and work in multiple BKT operating regions as business needs change will receive hiring priority.
Responsibilities
- Transport primarily non-hazardous frac chemicals
- Transport hazardous materials when properly endorsed and assigned
- Deliver and unload products at customer wellsites
- Safely operate tanker unloading equipment
- Follow BKT, customer, DOT, and site-specific safety procedures
- Complete bills of lading, delivery tickets, and other required paperwork
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Properly care for tractors, trailers, hoses, and unloading equipment
- Work safely in changing weather, road, and oilfield conditions
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Tanker endorsement required
- Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required for all available work
- Applicants with only a tanker endorsement may be considered for primarily non-hazardous freight
- Minimum three years of CDL-A experience preferred
- Tanker and product-unloading experience strongly preferred
- Oilfield experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to safely unload tanker trailers at customer locations
- Must be willing to work changing schedules based on customer demand
- Must follow all company, customer, DOT, and safety requirements
- Must properly care for equipment and report maintenance concerns
Equipment and Support
- Late-model Western Star, Peterbilt, and Kenworth tractors
- Stainless-steel smooth-bore tanker trailers
- Assigned truck within 90 days
- Paid travel and hotel for orientation
- Paid orientation and training
- PPE provided, excluding boots and FR clothing
