Description:
Seeking a education support professional to work in a substantially separate classroom with partial inclusion program for students with special needs. Will work under daily direction of a licensed Special Education Teacher and BCBA experienced in Autism, Developmentally Delayed, and other severe neurological disabilities. Experienced in Applied Behavior Analysis and keeping performance data as well as administering tutoring and support services to students in a classroom setting, small group setting or 1-1 setting. Must be adept at supporting students in the acquisition of academic, social and behavioral goals set by the special education team. Knowledge of augmentative/alternative communication methods, sensory diets, reinforcement schedules and behavior management techniques. Must be adept at working in a collaborative model with teachers and specialists in order to provide a transdisciplinary instructional approach. Toileting/diapering and heavy lifting may be required.
Requirements: Previous school based experience preferred.
Reports to: Building Principal and Special Education Program Manager
Salary: Commensurate with Malden Public Schools’ Unit C salary scale.
