Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register using POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, offering product recommendations, and assisting with product demos to enhance the shopping experience
- Handle cash drawer operations, including cash handling, balancing registers, and maintaining accurate cash records
- Upsell products and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to keep the store inviting and well-organized
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries, providing clear and helpful information
- Support inventory management through stocking duties and participating in periodic stock counts or audits
- Demonstrate product knowledge of store merchandise, including retail items, to effectively assist customers and answer questions
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math for handling transactions accurately
- Knowledge of retail math for calculating totals, discounts, and change accurately
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions with shoppers
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift merchandise as needed, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking and merchandising
