Responsibilities
- Safely handle and supervise dogs during playtime, rest periods, and activities to promote good behavior and ensure safety.
- Assist with pet bathing, grooming, and cleaning to maintain hygiene standards across the facility.
- Restrain animals using proper techniques during grooming or veterinary procedures to ensure safety for pets and staff.
- Clean kennels, play areas, and equipment regularly to uphold sanitation standards and prevent the spread of illness.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and behaviors.
- Support pet boarding and day camp services by monitoring animals’ well-being throughout their stay.
- Assist with animal behavior assessments and training exercises to promote positive interactions and socialization.
- Be extremely confident and comfortable in group play. Experience with large dog play groups extremely recommended.
Experience
Candidates should bring a background in veterinary or animal care environments, including veterinary technician or assistant experience. Prior kennel experience or pet sitting is highly valued. Skills in dog training, animal handling, restraint techniques, pet grooming, and facility sanitization are essential. Physical stamina is required for heavy lifting and outdoor work activities. Experience in customer service within pet care facilities enhances your ability to connect with clients effectively. Knowledge of animal behavior patterns helps ensure safe interactions between pets and staff. A strong commitment to animal welfare combined with team lifting capabilities will set you up for success in this energetic role!
