Job Summary
Interstate Bait is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining automated packaging equipment used to fill large pouches of food-grade citric acid in a clean, food-safe manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with machinery, takes pride in producing high-quality products, and understands the importance of food safety, cleanliness, and accurate inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust automated packaging equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Accurately track ingredient inventory, lot numbers, and batch records.
- Ensure packaging meets quality standards and production specifications.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all food safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized production area.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with general production and warehouse duties as needed.
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing or packaging equipment experience preferred (training available for the right candidate).
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning industrial equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
