Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Operate dishwashing machines and manual cleaning tools with precision and care
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or ingredient handling under supervision
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting dirty dishes to the dishwashing area
- Maintain cleanliness in the dish area and ensure proper storage of clean items according to sanitation standards
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment
- Help with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large pots or bulk supplies while adhering to manual handling guidelines
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or other cleaning tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and restaurant operations
- Previous catering, banquet, hotel, or culinary experience can enhance your application but is not mandatory
