Swanson Outdoor Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Outdoor Services Crew Member to join our growing team. This position involves a variety of outdoor construction, landscaping, excavation, fencing, and property improvement projects. Team members must be willing to work in all weather conditions, operate safely, and represent the company professionally while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install residential and commercial fencing.
- Perform excavation, grading, and site preparation.
- Assist with concrete work and foundation preparation.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Load, unload, and transport materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Assist with general property maintenance and outdoor improvement projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required for all positions).
- Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of construction or landscaping is preferred but not required.
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, tractors, or other heavy equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing, and standing.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work long hours when project schedules require.
Preferred Skills
- Fence installation experience.
- Heavy equipment operation.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- CDL or trailer towing experience.
- Construction, landscaping, or excavation background.
