Job Summary:
Duo Lift, a leading manufacturer of agricultural and industrial trailers, is seeking a dedicated Preassembly/Assembly Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be integral to the assembly of high-quality fertilizer and agricultural trailers, ensuring precision and adherence to safety and quality standards. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Component Assembly: Assemble trailer components, including frames, wiring, axles, brakes, tires, wheels, hitches, and other structural parts, following detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
- Wiring and Electrical Systems: Install and test electrical systems, including lighting and wiring harnesses, ensuring they meet functionality and compliance standards.
- Brake Systems: Install, adjust, and test hydraulic and air brake systems; perform brake bleeding to guarantee optimal performance.
- Plumbing Installation: Install and secure fittings, hoses, clamps, motors, pumps, and other plumbing components to ensure proper functionality and leak-free operation.
- Tack Welding: Perform tack welding during assembly, ensuring welds are strong, precise, and meet quality specifications.
- Hydraulic Systems: Assist in the installation and testing of hydraulic components and systems, ensuring proper functionality.
- Tool Operation: Operate pneumatic and hand tools, including drills, grinders, rivet guns, and cutting tools, as well as overhead cranes and hoists safely and efficiently.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, alignment, and adherence to quality standards; troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
- Material Handling: Move and position components and materials safely using forklifts or hoists as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA standards; participate in safety training and toolbox talks.
- Documentation: Complete assembly checklists, log work performed, and report discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
Qualifications:
Preferred Experience:
- Assembly of trailer components such as frames, axles, and brakes.
- Installing and testing wiring and electrical systems, including lighting and harnesses.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems, including installing fittings, hoses, clamps, motors, and pumps.
- Performing tack welding or similar welding tasks.
- Working with hydraulic systems or equipment.
- Operating pneumatic and hand tools, as well as overhead cranes or hoists.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
Communication:
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
Certifications: Forklift and/or welding certifications are a plus.
Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
