Chatham Hall is excited to begin a search for a part-time Athletic Trainer for the 2026-2027 academic year. Chatham Hall—a girls’ grades 9-12 boarding and day school in southern Virginia—has been a leader in educating girls since 1894. Chatham Hall Athletics ensures that students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals through a variety of opportunities offered. The successful candidate is one who loves facilitating learning and who is invigorated by time spent with young people.
Chatham Hall Athletics offers the following sports: field hockey, volleyball, cross-country, tennis, basketball, swimming and diving, soccer, golf, track and field, lacrosse, and a year-round riding program. Additionally, we offer dance, theater, robotics, yoga, and strength and conditioning as afternoon activities.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide athletic training services, including evaluating, treating, preventing, and rehabbing sports injuries.
Recognize and provide treatment during medical emergencies.
Monitor students’ progress through the concussion protocol.
Document treatment and progress.
Aid in the boarding program to help promote the Living Well initiative.
Assist in the supervision of athletic contests each season.
Communicate with a diverse group of students and parents.
Seek professional development opportunities as they become available.
Provide a supportive and creative environment.

Requirements
Must be certified with the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification.
Must be licensed by the Virginia Medical Board of Medicine as an Athletic Trainer or be eligible for licensure.
Must have either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training, accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training.
BLS CPR Certification required.
Weekday availability in the afternoons and/or evenings.
Weekend availability as needed.
Previous athletic training experience preferred.
