Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Seasonal Part-Time Gardener to work as a subcontractor on residential properties. This position focuses strictly on garden maintenance — no lawn mowing or turf care. The work is very physically demanding and best suited for someone who enjoys outdoor labor and has plant care experience.
Responsibilities:
- Plant knowledge (annuals/perennials/shrubs), planting, transplanting, weeding, pruning, and deadheading
- Seasonal bed cleanup
- Hauling garden debris, soil, and materials
- Identifying plant health issues (pests, disease, water stress)
- Maintaining clean and professional job sites
Requirements:
- Previous gardening, horticulture, or landscaping experience
- Shifts are 6–8 hours depending on job needs and weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation to multiple job sites within Holland/Saugatuck Area
- This is very physically demanding work. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, kneel, bend, dig, haul and work in all weather (90 degree heat to 30 degree cold).
- Must provide your own gloves and basic hand tools
- Comfortable working as part of a crew and taking direction
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 1099 subcontractor: responsible for your own taxes and insurance
Schedule:
- 6–8 hour daytime shifts
