We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures such as IV insertions, catheter care, phlebotomy, and suturing to prevent infections.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management for optimal recovery.
- Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and institutional standards.
- Operate medical equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, and diagnostic tools such as laboratory analyzers and sonography devices.
- Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, pain management strategies, and post-acute care instructions.
- Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed within all clinical settings including ICU, emergency room, outpatient clinics, and long-term care facilities.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proven experience in medical-surgical units within hospital settings or equivalent acute care environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient data management.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for accurate medical records coding and billing processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performing invasive procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, HIPAA compliance, trauma medicine principles (Level I & II trauma centers), and critical care practices.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or ICU units while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care.
