Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with over five years of hands-on expertise to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Duties
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC equipment using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct mechanical systems repair and maintenance, including welding and plumbing tasks as needed.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC/R issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and performing leak detection.
- Assist with HVAC system installation projects from start to finish while adhering to safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to prevent future breakdowns and optimize performance.
Skills
- Extensive construction experience combined with field service expertise in HVAC systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and building automation systems.
- Skilled in HVAC design principles, system installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems related to HVAC applications and ammonia refrigeration where applicable.
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively; welding skills are a plus.
- Experience with electrical diagnostics using multimeters or ohmmeters; familiarity with electrical systems is essential.
- Familiarity with refrigeration cycles, boiler operation, appliance repair, and property maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) for field service travel; clean driving record preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
