JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Technician II at North Mississippi Health Services involves efficiently supporting medication management and dispensing processes. JOB FUNCTIONS
People:
- Interact with internal and external staff to promote the hospital’s mission and vision.
Service:
- Assist Pharmacists in filling medication orders according to policy and procedures.
- Deliver medications.
- Responsible for admixing non-hazardous IV medications including TPNs (sterile compounding positions).
- Responsible for admixing hazardous IV medications on a relief basis (sterile compounding positions).
- Perform required record keeping.
Quality:
- Responsible for dispensing medication in an efficient, error free manner.
- Perform monthly reviews for out of date medications.
- Compliance with all USP 797 and 800 guidelines (sterile compounding positions).
Financial:
- Responsible for monitoring medication inventory levels.
- Responsible for notifying appropriate personnel of supply needs.
- Responsible for daily restocking of medications.
Growth:
- Routine interaction with departmental staff and supervisors to provide improvements to the medication process.
