We are hiring a Safety Representative to help ensure company drivers, trucks, and trailers meet safety and DOT compliance standards.
No industry experience required training is provided. Applicants with trucking, warehouse, construction, or mechanical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
This is a hands-on role that involves working outdoors in yard and dock environments and occasionally inside and under trailers. A company vehicle is provided for traveling between nearby yards.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate accidents and complete detailed reports.
- Create claims and cases as needed.
- Conduct mock inspections on trucks, trailers, and update records.
- Conduct driver audits.
- Learn and apply DOT regulations.
- Support overall safety compliance efforts.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record (required)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (required)
- Comfortable working outdoors in dock/yard environments
- Able to climb in and under trailers as needed.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook and Excel)
Schedule & Work Environment
- On-site position in Hegewisch, IL
- One day orientation will be at our Gary location.
- Evenings, Mornings, and Weekends available
- Must be comfortable outdoors and around active docks.
