Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improvements based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, ovens, grills, and other culinary tools
- Support catering functions by preparing large quantities of food for events or special occasions
- Serve dishes promptly while ensuring quality control, presentation appeal, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Proven kitchen experience in restaurants or food service environments demonstrating strong food handling skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation procedures
- Skilled in food preparation techniques including knife skills, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Experience with menu planning, catering, and large-scale meal preparation preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
