Experienced Tile Installer / Bathroom Tile Specialist

Rapido Bathrooms is hiring an experienced and dependable tile installer to join our bathroom-remodeling team. We specialize in bathroom renovations throughout Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia and are looking for someone who takes pride in producing clean, precise, professional tile work.
The ideal candidate has strong experience installing bathroom tile, shower tile, floor tile, and large-format tile. You must be able to work carefully inside customers’ homes, follow project instructions, and complete installations with proper spacing, alignment, cuts, and finishing.
Responsibilities
- Install ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, glass, marble, and natural-stone tile.
- Install tile on bathroom floors, shower walls, shower pans, niches, benches, curbs, backsplashes, and accent walls.
- Install large-format tile, including oversized porcelain panels and tiles such as 24-by-48-inch pieces or similar sizes.
- Measure and plan tile layouts to create balanced grout lines and avoid awkward cuts.
- Make accurate straight, angled, circular, and specialty cuts.
- Prepare walls and floors before installation.
- Install backer board, uncoupling membranes, and waterproofing systems.
- Mix and apply thinset, mortar, grout, caulk, and sealants correctly.
- Maintain consistent spacing, level lines, proper coverage, and clean finished edges.
- Identify uneven surfaces, water damage, weak substrates, or other problems before installing tile.
- Protect customers’ homes and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Communicate professionally with project managers, homeowners, and other trades.
- Complete final cleanup and correct workmanship issues when needed.
Required Experience
- Professional experience installing tile in bathrooms and showers.
- Experience installing large-format tile.
- Ability to complete tile layout, cutting, setting, grouting, caulking, and finishing.
- Knowledge of bathroom waterproofing and proper surface preparation.
- Ability to work independently and follow project plans.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Dependable attendance and professional communication.
- Ability to travel to jobsites throughout Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.
Preferred Experience
The following experience is helpful but not required:
- Experience repairing, leveling, replacing, or preparing subfloors.
- Experience identifying damaged or uneven subflooring.
- Experience with curbless showers, linear drains, niches, benches, and custom shower designs.
- Experience with Schluter, Wedi, GoBoard, Laticrete, or similar waterproofing systems.
- Experience working with natural stone and oversized porcelain tile.
- Basic demolition, carpentry, or bathroom-remodeling experience.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- English and Spanish communication skills.
Tools
Owning tile-installation tools is helpful but not required. Rapido Bathrooms is primarily looking for an experienced installer with strong skills, reliability, and professional-quality workmanship.
Experience using wet saws, grinders, manual tile cutters, hole saws, laser levels, mixing drills, and large-format tile-handling equipment is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, reach, and work in bathroom spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry tile, mortar, tools, and construction materials safely.
- Ability to follow all jobsite safety and dust-control procedures.
Rapido Bathrooms is looking for someone who is skilled, dependable, clean, and ready for consistent bathroom-remodeling projects throughout the DMV area.
Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
