Job description:
We are looking to hire several candidates for our Direct Support Professional (DSP) roles! These positions are available in a four-bed, licensed facility designed to provide 24-hour intensive behavioral support services to kids with developmental disabilities and severe challenging behavior.
Job Expectations: The job requires providing direct care in a person-centered manner, ensuring that the resident's unique needs, preferences, and goals are at the center of every interaction. These roles also require the capacity to effectively manage crises by providing responses that ensure the physical well-being, as well as the emotional and psychological comfort of the clients.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with medication passing, dressing, grooming, bathing, and other personal hygiene needs; supervising client schedules and activities; providing support and behavioral training services; and documenting all relevant information.
Candidates considered for Lead positions must complete RBT certification within 60 days of employment, or already have an active RBT certificate.
Schedule: We currently have Part-Time and Per Diem positions available. Our available shifts are: Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM and Weekend Shifts: Available for either the Day Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) or Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) All shifts are scheduled to provide 24/7 care for our residents, giving our employees flexibility and peace of mind.
Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of six months of prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Educational requirements include a High School Diploma or GED. Background and medical clearances are also required.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels). Applicants should be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, speak clearly to communicate information to patients and staff, read memos, computer screens, personnel forms, clinical and administrative documents, and perform tasks requiring reaching above shoulder level, bending, squatting, sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, reaching, kneeling, and twisting/turning.
