ProForm Finishing Products, LLC has an immediate opening for a Production Operator at our Belcamp, MD plant location. This position will report to the Shift Team Lead.

JOB SUMMARY:
We have one opening for a full-time permanent production role on 2nd shift, which operates from 2pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays and Sundays. Your role will be as Ready-Mix Production Operator starting at$26.00- $28.00 an hour. Responsible for operating computer-controlled production equipment as well as manufacturing interior finishing products. With Safety as the #1 priority, the main responsibilities include following standard operating procedures and job safety analyses to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met. Day to day activities include product line changeovers and machine adjustments; maintaining required production records and reporting any inconsistencies or equipment issues; assisting with quality assurance testing of the final product.
Key Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
Safety Operations
- Follow all safety and health procedures (JSA/SOP) consistently.
- Suggest improvements for safer work methods.
- Properly inspect, use, and maintain tools, machinery, and PPE.
- Report unsafe conditions, injuries, and incidents promptly.
- Complete RAC cards and participate in safety programs, meetings, and investigations.
- Responsible for keeping Safety First for yourself and your co-workers
- Identify and communicate safety hazards, quality deficiencies and machine process issues to management
- Know and comply with all safety and quality policies and procedures
- Perform production machinery and equipment inspections to ensure proper operation and safety
Production & Quality Operations
- Operate equipment including forklifts, vacuum lifts, lift tables, balers, dump hoppers, and robotic systems.
- Use IFix mixer computer to produce batches of joint compound (target: 2.3 batches/hour).
- Monitor batch production and equipment performance; replace empty totes and bulk bags.
- Operate fill station equipment: conveyors, fillers, lid placers, printers, bag inserters, and case sealers.
- Perform quality tests: viscosity, bond, swipe, rubout, temperature, and gallon weight.
- Load denester with pails, manage glue pellets, and prepare bag inserter rolls.
- Operate robot cell: scan process orders, print stickers, stack containers, and wrap pallets.
- Document production data, downtime, and scrap in SAP and other systems.
- Communicate quality concerns and assist other stations when needed.
- Follow control plans when product is out of specification.
- Prevent spoilage by cleaning tanks, fill heads, and dead spots.
- Determine corrective action necessary to minimize downtime, increase productivity, and maintain continuity of operations.
- Ability to make machine and process adjustments to ensure product is within required specifications, while communicating effectively with co-workers
- Perform routine finished goods quality control tests
Housekeeping Operations
- Maintain cleanliness across all workstations including mixer mezzanine, fill station, denester, and robot cell.
- Sweep floors, empty trash cans, clean equipment surfaces, and organize raw materials.
- Manage cardboard and plastic bales, reclaim blowout containers, and secure pallets.
Maintenance Operations
- Clean and replace filters, screens, photo eyes, reflectors, and printer components.
- Perform minor mechanical adjustments and report equipment issues.
- Test emergency stops and gate disconnects.
General Expectations
- Arrive on time for shift handovers and maintain punctuality.
- Take scheduled breaks (one 15-minute and one 30-minute lunch).
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate a clear focus on safety as the main priority of the job
- Ability to work in a factory/manufacturing plant environment
- Basic computer skills needed to operate factory equipment and perform production data entry
- Familiarity with common hand tools/proper use (hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, tape measure, etc.)
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills; demonstrated ability to
determine root cause of machine equipment failure
- Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team environment; communicate effectively with co-workers and management
- Overtime and weekend shift work may be required up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week
- Basic math skills
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Physically able to stand, climb ladders and walk for extended periods of time
- Fast learner and strong work ethic
- Forklift experience a plus
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
