Job Description
▼Position Summary
The Field Service Technician supports the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of industrial automation equipment at customer sites across North America.
This role performs equipment installation, system troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and technical service support for customers.
The technician prepares materials and documentation for installations, maintains service parts inventory, and works closely with engineering, operations, and sales teams to ensure successful project completion and customer satisfaction.
▼Essential Duties and Responsibilities
●Field Installation & Service
・Install, commission, and start up industrial automation equipment at customer facilities.
・Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
・Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on installed equipment.
・Provide onsite technical support and basic operational training to customers.
・Document all service work performed, including installation notes and repair details.
・Experience supporting plastic injection-molding operations, including mold changes, tooling, hydraulic or pneumatic clamping systems, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance, strongly preferred.
●Technical Preparation & Project Support
・Prepare tools, materials, and equipment required for field installations.
・Review installation drawings, schematics, and project documentation before service visits.
・Assist engineering teams by providing field feedback for product and system improvements.
・Ensure proper documentation of installation procedures and project completion.
●Inventory & Parts Management
・Maintain service parts inventory required for field service and installations.
・Track replacement components and tools needed for upcoming service work.
・Assist with organization and maintenance of service equipment and spare parts.
●Customer Support & Collaboration
・Act as a technical point of contact for customers during installations and service visits.
・Communicate service findings and equipment status to customers and internal teams.
・Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to ensure successful
●Travel & Field Work
・Travel to customer locations throughout North America to perform installation and service work.
・Follow all company and customer safety policies when performing field service.
・Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

・Experience in Plastics Technology
・3–5 years of experience in industrial equipment installation, service, or maintenance.
・Experience working with industrial automation systems, machinery, or manufacturing equipment preferred.
・Technical degree or certification in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
・Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical systems and control components.
・Ability to travel up to 50% throughout North America.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
