Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the accurate and timely shipment of products, managing shipping documentation, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations. This role plays a vital part in maintaining efficient warehouse distribution, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to operational excellence. Duties
- Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, customs paperwork, and shipping labels using inventory management software and ERP systems.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick, pack, and load orders efficiently using RF scanners, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and forklifts.
- Verify order accuracy through data entry and inventory management software to ensure correct items are shipped.
- Schedule shipments with carriers, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to shipping & receiving or logistics.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards for export shipments.
- Maintain accurate records of shipped goods, update inventory levels in Warehouse Management System (WMS), and perform regular stock checks.
- Assist in packaging products securely for shipment while adhering to safety standards and customer specifications.
- Support warehouse operations by participating in stock stocking, order picking & packing, and load & unload activities.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address shipment inquiries or discrepancies promptly.
- Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to support order fulfillment processes efficiently.
Experience
- Prior experience working in warehouse operations or logistics environments is essential.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with shipping logistics, international trade regulations, and trade compliance procedures.
- Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to perform data entry accurately within fast-paced environments.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Previous experience in e-commerce fulfillment or warehouse distribution is advantageous.
