Job Title: Triage Nurse
Reports to: Clinical Coordinator
Details: Immediate Opening; Full-Time Position Monday through Friday in either our Lake Forest or Gurnee office.
Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic to join our small but growing private medical practice that has been providing the highest level of women’s healthcare for over 50 years. We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, can multitask, and organized. In this role, you will be working with the providers and team to ensure patients receive the attention deserved when here for their office visit.
The triage nurse will work hand in hand with providers to ensure the highest level of quality healthcare is provided. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience in a medical office, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Gyne experience is a plus but we are willing to train someone with drive and ambition that is willing and excited to learn. We are looking for someone that wants to learn and grow within our practice.
Responsibilities and Duties of Position:
- Work within the privacy guidelines of HIPAA
- Always be courteous, professional, and responsive with patients
- Ensure tasks, messages, and calls from providers are completed including follow up notes and records from referrals.
- Triage medical calls, task providers as needed.
- Manage Rx refills from patients, providers, and pharmacies.
- Schedule surgeries and various appointment types.
- Work with providers to handle Rx refills from patients, providers, and pharmacy
- Diagnostic testing follow-up and corresponding with patients as needed
- Complete prior authorizations and communicate prescription coverage among patient, pharmacy, and insurance.
- Communicate test results and provider recommendations to patients
- Respond to patients via phone and portal in a timely manner.
- Prepare and send referrals and follow up with patients to ensure appointment is scheduled. Keep provider informed of progress.
- Send imaging and lab orders to outside facilities.
- Counsel patients on results and provide patient education.
- Answer the physician line live and send records accordingly.
- Assist on surgery days by providing help with pre-op care as well as monitoring patients post-op. This includes ensuring pathology and imaging reports are received.
- Help with floor responsibilities as needed such as blood draws, vaccines, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse with at least 2 years’ experience working with physicians.
- Dependable and timely
- Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently while working independently
- Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and entire team.
Salary & Benefits for Full-Time Position:
