Position Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support classroom instruction within a juvenile correctional education setting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, structure, and positively impacting students’ academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in the classroom in the absence of the teacher
- Take attendance and monitor student behavior and assignments
- Support students with completing lesson plans and daily work
- Maintain daily records and written reports in compliance with policy
- Collaborate with educational staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Uphold confidentiality and safety procedures at all times
- Participate in required training, meetings, and certifications
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to implement teacher lesson plans independently
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create a positive, structured learning environment
- Team-oriented with openness to supervision and feedback
- Must pass drug screening and required background checks
This position reports directly to the School Principal and plays a critical role in supporting student success through consistency, structure, and encouragement.
