Job Summary: The Stitcher Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining stitching/binding equipment to produce high-quality finished products. This role ensures jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and according to customer specifications and production schedules.
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate stitching equipment (e.g., saddle stitchers, booklet makers) according to job specifications
- Read and interpret job tickets, layouts, and production instructions
- Adjust machine settings for different paper sizes, thicknesses, and stitch requirements
- Monitor production quality and make adjustments as needed to maintain standards
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, alignment, and binding integrity
- Maintain production speed while minimizing waste and downtime
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Communicate with supervisors and other departments regarding job status or issues
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of experience operating stitching or bindery equipment (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to read job tickets and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Basic math and measurement skills
