Job Overview
Employee performs several tasks in the process of feeding rough lumber from tilt hoist to planer feeder. Employee stands beside lumber transfers where he or she inspects lumber for obvious signs of defect such as breaks, excessive taper (beaver tail) or other problems with the lumber that would result in the lumber failing to feed through the planer properly. The employee operates a circular saw; commonly referred to as a skill saw to cut ends of boards so they are square. As lumber is fed from tilt hoist on to landing table, employee ensures that stickers fall off lumber into sticker reclaim belt. The employee is responsible for monitoring the sticker reclaim system and clearing hang ups in the reclaim belt, changing sticker boxes and keeping the sticker reclaim area clean.
EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING REQUIRED
Employees must know how to safely operate circular saw. Employees must be familiar with planer parameters so as to avoid wasting product when cutting ends off lumber.

Mandatory:
1. Must be Able to Understand Verbal and Written Instructions
2. Must be able to judge lengths of lumber
3. Must be able to read tape measure
4. Must be able to work as an essential element of a crew
5. Must be able to gauge dimension of ends of lumber.
6. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times per work shift.
7. Must be able to follow safety procedures without supervision at all times
8. Must have mechanical aptitude to identify potential problems and react accordingly

Pay: $21.11 - $21.59 per hour
