Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electro-Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment across the facility to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical systems, contributing to the seamless operation of our production processes. 6am - 6pm
Must be available for overtime and weekends
Performance Requirements:
- Strength demands: Includes exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and sitting, standing and walking to a significant degree.
- Pass technical assessment addressing job-critical maintenance knowledge areas.
- Experience with electrical systems, product manuals, schematics, troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, reading mechanical drawings
- Experience in electrical/electronics, PLC’s (programmable logic controls), A/C and D/C motors, drives and controls.
- Experience wiring 24V and 480V motors; and programming settings on the VFD’s for these motors.
- Knowledge of in-house equipment and machinery.
- Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting with a strong understanding of AC and DC voltages and mechanical power transmission systems.
- All other duties and responsibilities determined by individual department and/or reasonably assigned from time to time.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including HVAC/R systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems using schematics, electrical blueprint reading, multimeters such as ammeters and ohmmeters, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Repair or replace faulty components in electrical systems, including low voltage controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), relays, switches, motors, and wiring.
- Conduct welding tasks using appropriate techniques such as welding to repair or fabricate parts as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and equipment history.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret schematics and troubleshoot complex equipment issues effectively.
- Operate scissor lifts and other industrial equipment safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas during maintenance activities.
- Support technical sales efforts by providing expert advice on equipment repairs or upgrades when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to electrical systems, welding procedures, and machinery operation.
- Assist in training team members on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
Skills
- Extensive experience working within manufacturing facilities with a strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics tools such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC/R systems, and low voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components.
- Skilled in welding techniques specific to welding standards for fabrication or repair tasks.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for maintenance planning and documentation.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills in English.
- Analysis skills necessary for interpreting technical data and diagnosing faults efficiently.
- Experience with industrial electrician tasks including electrical blueprint reading and electrical system repairs.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to working at heights with scissor lifts and handling high-voltage systems.
